Research at the NPC is structured as a collaborative effort, conducted by a distributed network of researchers from around the country. The NPC draws heavily on University of Michigan-based scholars from a wide variety of disciplines. In addition, over forty nationally prominent poverty researchers and analysts participate in NPC research activities.
The researchers listed below undertake new research funded by the NPC, contribute to volumes, present their findings at conferences or policy roundtables, teach workshops for younger researchers, and participate in ongoing dialogues intended to stimulate new research.
Director: Sheldon H. Danziger
Executive Committee: the University of Michigan scholars who lead the efforts of the NPC
National Advisory Board: nationally recognized researchers, analysts, and policymakers who provide broad input and direction to the NPC
Senior Research Affiliates: over 40 prominent researchers from around the nation
U-M & Local Affiliates: nearly 100 affiliated researchers at the U-M and nearby institutions
Visiting Scholars: a small number of visiting faculty, researchers, and policy analysts.
